How To Treat Swooning In Ayurved

Swooning:

Cause: Distressing gas in the stomach, profuse or insufficient flow in menstruation. More prevalent among females.

Symptoms : Heart pain, yawning, incomplete knowledge. Unlike epilepsy, there is no vomiting, clenching of teeth, distortion of face, cramping of limbs, rolling on the ground, etc. The patient becomes senseless and falls down. After recovering consciousness, there is perspiration, thirst, pain, bloody eyes (also yellow), and purging.

Treatment : When the patient becomes senseless, sprinkle cold water on the face and eyes. Give Aswa- gandharista, or Murchhantak Ras with trifala and honey; either Chintamani Chaturmukh or Jogendra Ras with trifala and honey may also be given. The nutritive, carminative, Brihat Chhagaladya Ghrita is very efficacious. Madhyam Narayan Taila or Bayuchhaya Surendra Taila is to be rubbed on the head. Both acute and chronic cases are covered by these medicines. If there is swooning because of uterine troubles, give the patient Abalabandhab jog. If she has dysmenorrhea or scanty flux, give Badhakari Batika. In menorrhagia give Rajaprasadani Bati. Asokarista may be used conjunctively for quick results. Santi Bati again is a good remedy here.

Diet: Nutritious food, cold drinks, raisins, pomegranate, etc. Remaining awake at night, heavy diet, heavy exercise, and sour things are not good.
