Men of the Vedas and Upanishadas realized the sound Om; those of the Ramayana and Mahabharata realized Rarang and Shohang. Recently we have had many teachers who speak of new realizations. We call them the creators of the new order. This new order is a light to men. It is understandable and easy, and it is for everyone.
The realizations of which the new order speaks are :
- Dayaldesh comprised of :-
Paramlok Agamlok
Anamilok Satyalok
Alakhalok Vramargufa
- Brahmandadesh comprised of :-
Shunya, 10th Stage or Parabrahmadham Vishnulok
Trikuti or Gagan Brahmalok
Shahasradalkamal Sivalok
- Pindadesh comprised of :-
Agyachakra Manipur
Bishudhyakhya Shwadhistan
Anahata Muladhar
The master of the Dayaldesh is Dayalpurush, and the master of the Brahmanda and Pindadeshas is Kalpurush. Dayalpurush is everlasting, and Kalpurush is controlled by him. Every creature of the world is qualified to enter these regions of Dayaldesh, Brahmandadesh, and Pindadesh; though only men can conceive them. The root of the nose is the lowest seat of the soul, it is claimed, and only by chanting a holy name (Suratshabda) while concentrated at this point can one push one’s soul onward, it is said. There is also a need for a seer in this order of realization. When a person is master of Dayaldesh and willing to initiate or baptize people for their good, he is called a Satguru. Everything in this new system of spiritual realization is supposed to have been set up by Satgurus who revere the past seers and know how to guide the world to a better future.
Sivadayal Singha was the pioneer of this new order. He was born in Agra in 1818. He came from a high Kshatriya family. When he was six or seven, many spiritual qualities were revealed in his character. As he grew up, he became a spiritual master. He meditated for 15 long years in a solitary place and was in trance for two or three days at a stretch during this time. He was not initiated to any man; he instinctively did and realized. So he was born Sawata-santa, as it is called. Sivadayal first initiated his father, mother, and brother Lala Pratap Singha. When he was publicized a bit, people of different sects-Hindu, Moslem, Jain, and Parsee-rushed to him for initiation. Later in his life he was known as Swamijee Maharaj.
Who were born seers in the past 700 years? Swamijee Maharaj recognized Kabir Sahib, Guru Nanak, Tulsi Sahib, Jagajivan Sahib, Goribdasji. Daduji, Tulsidasji, Swami Haridasji, Poltu Sahib, and among the Moslems, Shams-i-Tabrej, Maulana Rumi, Hafiz Sarmad, Muja- ddid-Al-Fes Sani. Swamijee Maharaj was the first to explain his realizations. He introduced congregational prayer in 1861 and expounded his realizations in the prayer meetings. Those expositions were called ‘Sar Bachan’. In his lifetime 3000 followers worshipped him. He died in 1879.
We would like to quote some excerpts from the ‘Sar- Bachan’
“Ghee is in milk, fire is in wood;
until the ghee and fire are separated,
we cannot feel their entity.
So Brahma is everywhere.
He who talks much of Him has no realization;
so his talking is useless.”
“The flower has fragrance;
the Supreme is in you.
The flower we can see;
its fragrance we can smell,
and he who has devotion for the Guru
can feel the supreme in his heart.”
“Men are always addicted to worldly illusions.
If they were similarly addicted to God,
they could realize many higher things.”
“In the beginning there was dha-dha-kar,
and He was in him.
He had no manifestation then.
Once He willed to create,
the sounds began to boom.
First there was Satyalok.
Dayaldesh, Brahmandadesh, and Pindadesh
were all manifestations from Him.”
“Men’s minds are as fickle as wild elephants.
To control the elephant a driver is required;
so in the case of the mind
to elevate it and keep it balanced
a Satguru is needed.
As long as the Satguru is followed,
the mind will be in balance.
If men desire the supreme,
they need the Satguru,
without whose blessings none can stand
in the spiritual world.”
“There is nothing as full of juice as the name.
He who has realized name is the master of theories.
Can the wife run away if you have the husband in
your hand ?**
“God and creation are two brothers.
The only difference is that one is the creator
and the other is the created.”
“Worldly activities give immediate results.
That is why men rush to them.
Spiritual results remain unknown;
so men seldom rush to spiritual activities.
You must have faith before you start anything.
Faith is the resource of result and the
revolution of character.”
“The spirit was once the inhabitant of dayaldesh.
He left the booming voice
and became imprisoned in the world.
He is suffering much because of mind.
He is in the mortal body…
moving restlessly everywhere.”
“That spirit is ever conscious.
He is enjoying the world and suffering.
He has forgotten his home.
He is dull to know himself
and has not cared to make himself alert.”
“That spirit is the dull servant of the senses
and is suffering the results of birth and death.
He is in the bondage of time and space.
He is suffering from disease
and from the sorrows of consequence.”
“He has become tied up in worldly affairs
and tasted worldly juices.
Worldly illusions have caught him tightly.
He has forgotten the heavenly joys
and has come to earth for earthly enjoyments.”
“In this condition without the help of a Satguru
how can he go back home?
He has missed the main gate to consciousness.
His inner urge is now inactive
and he has no feelings for anything.”
“He cannot cross over the lower region.
How can he get to ‘Sweta-sthan’ or Dayaldesh?
He cannot distinguish what is anahata-nad
from what is dhannattak.
How can he realize the sound of spirit ?”
“Now it is the duty to fix the mind in peaceful mood at the root of the nose,
and to go on and on.
Cross trikuti and leave Brahmandadesh behind.
Forget the impressions of the mind and reach home.
The supreme father is saying,
‘Brother, enjoy the chaitanyalok-the heaven- and go on forever with elating consciousness.”
Roy Shaligram Singha Bahadur was born in Pipalmandi Mahalla, Agra, on March 14, 1828. He was a kshatriya of a respectable family. When he was a boy of seven or eight, he showed much promise to his wise elders, and in his later years he was widely known among the people. It was the custom in Agra then for the kshatriya families to have their boys married and initiated at the age of eight or nine. When the boy Shaligram reached the proper age, arrangements were made for the double ceremony. But the boy turned his back on the marriage proposal and agreed only to the initiation on the condition that he would have the liberty at any time to take initiation again from a Satguru or one who knew Brahma. A man from the Mathura Goswami family came to initiate him and was pleased to give permission to be initiated again at his own sweet will by any Brahma-knowing man.
Shaligram Singha knew English and Parsee. He read up to the English Senior Class, and after finishing his education, accepted a job as an inspector in the Postal Department. In 1857 the Sepoy Mutiny broke out, and he was anguished to see the cruelty of the unbalanced people. He could not bear the plight of humankind and sought spiritual solace. He started to read the Upanishadas, but he could not find God from them, nor could he find peace in his mind. He realized that without a Guru life could not grow. He searched for a man who knew Brahma and could give him peace. Day by day his mind cried more wildly for a Guru. At last he got information from one of his office associates of Swamijee Maharaj and rushed to him. Swamijee Maharaj initiated him, and at last his mind was peaceful. He had found his way. After Swamijee Maharaj’s death he became the second Guru of Swamiji’s disciples and was known as Huzur Maharaj. There are many charming stories about his devotion.
Once Professor Max Muller met Huzur Maharaj and was charmed to know of his attachment to his Guru. He wrote about him in his book, ‘Ramakrishna And His Life And Teachings’. He also published an article about him in Prabuddha Bharata in May, 1868. Huzur Maharaj’s sermons were so impressive that hearers invariably felt spiritually uplifted. After some time the rumor was spread that anyone who met him or even saw the light in his room from a distance would get a new life. Max Muller wrote, “Really men got afraid to look at the light burning in his window.” The pioneer of the Theosophical Society, Madam Blavatsky, came to him once with a note from Alfred Russell, the Governor of U. P. She was charmed to see him and discussed spiritual matters with him for many hours. Along about the same time a young German went to Lord Ripon, Governor, and said that his mother was a spiritualist and had come to know through spiritual means that there was in India one kind of pipe, the use of which would help one’s soul to go higher. The young man requested the Governor to find out the pipe for him. Lord Ripon sent him to Colonel Alcott who was in the Theosophical Society. The young man was not successful. He did not get his pipe. But he did meet Huzur Maharaj at the society and was advised by him that it was really to be found in India but that it was an inner thing that was to be realized rather than something that could be packaged and sent abroad.
Huzur Maharaj became the Postmaster General of U. P. and did many good things for the postal department. In his time the new order spread far and wide. Sree Annadaprosad Gupta of Barisal District in Bengal and Iswar Chandra Chakravarty and Mother Monmohini Devi of Pabna District in the same province became his disciples. He died in December, 1899.
Huzur Maharaj wrote Prempatra, Prembani, Solace, and many other books. We are quoting some saying of Prempatra :
“He who has reached to the highest Satyalok region is Santa or Satguru.
He who has realized up to the tenth stage
and is trying for Satyalok is Sadhguru.
He who is spiritually developed
and trying to reach the first ten stages
and then the Satyalok is called sadh.”
“He who wants the absolute must reach Satyalok ;
otherwise his incompleteness will bring him back,’
“Only the spirit or libido is essential
for the upliftment of the soul and mind.
Nothing else can do the job.
Breathing exercises cannot help you to Satyalok ;
furthermore they can be harmful.
“The Supreme Father has given an easy way,-
avoiding exercises and practicing love.
He alone who knows and is the master of love
is Satguru or Sadhguru.”
“We are lucky indeed if we get the touch and blessings of a Satguru; he is not easy to find.
He is everywhere as sound-vibration-,
but we need to know him personally.
Otherwise we cannot realize the various manifestations of the world.
Spiritually minded men need him desperately.”
“If once we find him, we should love him.
No other attachment should be kept in the mind.
Be thankful to God that he has given you
the mind and chance to know the Satguru.
Develop your soul and don’t waste your days
thinking that you have met him and that’s enough.
Try to prepare your soul;
then you will feel love and faith for him.
You will understand what it means
to practice the libido system.”
“Persons lower than the supreme may be revered,
but your love for the Satguru must remain intact.
As a wife devotes her life to the family members
of her husband,
Yet is not in the least detached from him in love,
so those who have come in contact with the Satguru
should adhere to him and depend wholly on him
for any spiritual or worldly results.
This is the best way to realize the practice
of the libido system.”
The third Satguru of this new order was Pandit Brahma Sankar Misra who was born in Piri Mahalla, Benares on March 28, 1861. He was of a respectable Brahmin family, and his father was a Sanskrit professor in Benares College. The father schooled the son in Sanskrit and English, but Brahma Sankar loved science more than language and took an M. Sc. degree from Calcutta University.
After his education Brahma Sankar came in contact with Huzur Maharaj and was initiated on November 28, 1885. After the demise of Huzur Maharaj he took his master’s place and was called Maharaj Sahib. For the benefit of English-knowing people he instituted some scientific practices. His discourses were compiled in five volumes under the title Maharaj Sahiber Bachan. He also started a book on English called Discourses, but could not complete it. It came out in 1909 after his death and has since appeared in both Hindi and Bengali. During his life he was employed as a superintendent under the Accountant General of U. P. He gave shape to the faith he inherited which after his death continued to flourish. He died on October 12, 1907.
We quote some discourses from Maharaj Sahiber Bachan :
“He who is really truth-seeker should know what is Dayaldesh, how far is the way to it,
and who is to lead him so far.
If scriptures do not deal with this Subject, they are not worth very much.
The Satguru says, ‘Everyone can achieve Dayaldesh by realizing anahata-nad or dhanattak-nad
and by following his Guru- thinking him and his name.’
The process is easy. The Satguru says, “Stay at home and do your daily business.
What is the need of leaving the world?
But concentrate your mind and avoid worldly longings.”
“The drunkard and gambler get interest in their game and drinking.
They even forget to eat and do other things; they are so addicted.
If a man is not equally addicted to know God, what is his life for?
He who will be interested in Brahma will feel happiness and detachment by and by,
and this is the true sign of the realized man.
The person with addiction toward Brahma seldom cares for worldly interests; he longs only for God’s love.
“When the libido current will go up and up, and when all the obsessions of the mind will be off,
a man will be able to meet His consciousness and feel love and devotion.
The libido is more powerful than the light of sun, moon and stars.
Astronomers say, the light beams of some stars
take 300 years to come to the earth, and that light travels 186,000 miles in a second.
But the speed of the libido cannot be imagined or measured.
Yet nobody is interested to know this libido, Or the Creator.
Everyone is moving in his own interest.”
“Radium always radiates light, and the Sadh or Satguru is always radiating light of consciousness.
We feel warm when we go close to the fire.
We feel love when we go close to the Satguru.”
“When the Satguru comes, we should know him perfectly.
But almost everything depends on his mercy.
Suppose a king comes to a foreign country without his costume.
No one will understand who he is.
But if anyone comes to him and asks him, the king may disclose himself.
Such is the case with Satguru;
He never discourages the man who is eager to know him.”
“By following the practice of the libido system one can achieve three stages in a single life:
muladhar (Sacral plexus), swadhistan (lumber plexus) and manipur chakra (dorsal plexus)
Until the manipur chakra is crossed, man is beastly. When he goes to anahata (brachial plexus ) he is perfectly man.
To get to anahata, bishudyakhya, and aggyachakra he may need another life.
When a man can concentrate in aggyachakra, he becomes godly.
When he crosses into shahasradal-kamal, trikuti and shunya, he becomes as pure as a swan.
It takes four lives to realize all the stages including:
Mahashunya, vramargupha, and satyalok.
A man in satyalok is as pure as a swan.
He who has a little taste for spirituality can achieve two life stages in one life and the third in the second life.
There are a number of people in this third stage.”
Pundit Kamakhya Prosad was born on December 12, 1872. He was a man of Bihar. He became the fourth Guru of the order. He was initiated by Maharaj Sahib, and when the latter died, Pandit Kamakhya Prosad stayed in Gajipur which had been his first working place. Then he moved to Murar, and finally into the Mayuri Hills (Sahabad) where he lived alone. He was a lawyer and practiced in the Gajipur Court. He became known as Sarkar Sahib and died on December 7, 1913.
Sree Sree Thakur Anukul Chandra Chakravarty was born in the village of Himaitpur, Pabna on Friday, September 14, 1888. His father was Sivchandra Chakravarty, and his mother, Manomohini Devi. Sree Sree Thakur read up to Class X and studied medical science in Calcutta at the National Medical School. He began practicing in his own village. His mother, Manomohini Devi, took the advice of Sarkar Sahib and initiated her son.
Thakur Anukul Chandra is giving solutions on every side of human welfare: education, society, religion, art, industry, science, and politics. He is always trying for the upliftment of mankind. He has said that when the soul will be right, all the rest of life will be all right. He loves men, and hundreds of thousands from different provinces, countries, creeds, and backgrounds are following him as their Satguru in the new order of realization and religion.
