Urticaria:
Causes: Toxic phlegm and air due to mixture of cold air with bile. The toxins take shelter in the skin and blood, and urticaria results.
Symptoms: A small swelling like a wasp bite, itching, vomiting, fever, burning sensation.
Pre-symptoms: Thirst, bad taste, retching, and depression.
Treatment: Saribadi Salsa, Saribadi Bati, Manikya Ras, Mahatikta Ghrita, Brihat Haridrakhanda, Brihat Guruchyadi Lauha. Brihat Guruchyadi Taila should be massaged on the affected area morning and evening. Where there is indigestion, give Brihat Agnikumar Ras in the morning, Brihat Bat Chintamani with the juice of menispermum glabrum and honey at noon, and Bhaskar Lavan at night, after meals. Where there is fever, give Sarbajwar Bati ; where constipation, give Kosthasuddhi Batika; and where the disease is chronic and complicated with fever and biliousness, give Bat Pittantak Ras with betel juice and honey.
Diet: Rice (old stock), juice of mugh or kalai lentils, kakrole, karala, radish, helencha leaves, soft rattan leaves, and other bitter foods. Fish and flesh, daytime sleeping, bathing, sun-heat, sweet and astringent foods are not allowed.
