Carbuncle:
The carbuncle usually grows on the backside or neck. It has many little mouths, from which purulent matter comes out. Men are more subject to carbuncles than women, and middle-aged people more than others. The disease can be fatal to the diabetic if it attacks the face, head and backside.
Treatment: Baharer Nani, Chandanadi Lep, Trifaladi Lep, Dasanga Lep, etc. Saribadi Salsa, Sindur Jog, and Kajjali Jog are to be taken with the juice of the memordica charantia leaves or karala leaves. Bowels must be kept clear. If Sindur Jog does not clear them, use Kosthasuddhi Modak. Sadhana Malam, Charma Rogantak, and Saribadi Bati are helpful in this disease.
Diet: Fine rice (old stock), lentils (musuri, gram, and mugh) cooked in ghee, meat soup, green bananas, trichosanthes dioica, eggplant, memordica charantia, karala, azirdiachta leaves, tender portion of rattan plant, susni leaves, flower of banana, rocksalt, sugar candy, bitter and astringent foods. In fever, feed gruel of parched rice and raisins. Milk can be taken in small quantities.
