In this disease the bowels move but not satisfactorily. There is rumbling in the stomach. The patient thinks one bowel motion per day will be sufficient, but after bowels have moved, he thinks he will have to go to the latrine later in the day again. There is no feeling of clearance. Nowadays more men suffer from costiveness than from constipation.

 

Treatment: Saragun Balijarita Makaradhwaja in the morning; Bhaskar Lavan after noon meal; Jogendra Ras in the evening; and Haritaki Khanda at bedtime.
