Treatment of Thirst In Ayurved

Thirst:

Cause : Fever, diarrhea, vomiting, dysentery, gonorrhea, diabetes, irritated gas and bile, improper stomach secretions, profuse bleeding, sudden hurt.

 

Treatment: Kumudeswar Ras, Mahadadhi Ras, Rasadi Churna are the medicines. Hot water is better than cold to check thirst. Thirst can generally be cured when the original ailment is cured. Where it remains as a by-product of another disease, the above- mentioned medicines may be used.

 

Diet: Rice gruel, parched rice gruel, helencha leaves, dried leaves of jute plant, soft margosa leaves, top portion of rattan plant, and other anti-biliaries. Sugar, tamarind, dates, trifala, lemon, green cocoanut, and coriander seeds are helpful and thirst-preventive.
